Progressive

I used a regular pattern which is when rhythms and patterns have identical beats or motifs and equal amounts of space between them. An alternating pattern is when a rhythm and pattern can be created in several ways. A random pattern is where a motif is repeated in no apparent order, with no regular spaces in between, creates a random rhythm. Flowing patterns are when the rhythm is created by repeating wavy lines. Curved shapes, such as rolling hills or ocean waves, create flowing rhythms. Finally a progressive pattern is when in the rhythm, there is a change in the beat each time it is repeated. The change is a steady one.

I got all of my patterns and designs from Orchid Island, Taiwan.

I created each piece through my knowledge of what each patterns rhythm and motif is. To clarify, the rhythm of a pattern is the repetition of objects or elements and the motif of a pattern is a unit that is repeated in a visual pattern
